Tips for Opening Your Medication

We’ve worked with consumers to design a package that meets legal requirements while still being user friendly — and this type of packaging has been proven to help our customers take their medication correctly.

Packaging that includes a daily calendar has been scientifically proven to help patients track doses and refill prescriptions on time, which can lead to better health. This small change can make a big difference!

When it’s time to take your medication, follow these quick steps:

Tips for easy opening:

1. Make sure you firmly push the button before you pull on the medication card. If you pull on the card first, it will become trapped inside the carton.
2. Continue pushing the button as you pull on the medication card. Don’t stop pressing the button until the card is fully released from the carton.
3. Make sure you don’t "pinch" the button between your two fingers while they’re on the front and back of the carton. This will trap the medication card inside the carton.

How do I open Shellpak Renew?

• Use your left thumb to gently push the button, and then pull out the silver medication card with your right thumb and forefinger.

Tips for easy opening:

1. Ensure the blister card is fully pushed into the package. 
2. Gently push the button before you pull on the medication card. If you pull on the card first, it will become trapped inside the carton. Pressing too hard will make the package more difficult to open.
3. Don’t "pinch" the button between your two fingers that are on the front and back of the carton. This will trap the medication card inside the carton.
